Biography

Dr. Tijjani (TJ) Mohammed is Chair of the Department of Technology Systems and a faculty member with more than 25 years of service. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including graduate advisor for master’s and doctoral students, coordinator of the Digital Communications and Computer Networking Management concentrations, and coordinator of the Computer Network Professional Graduate Certificate program.

Dr. Mohammed teaches courses in digital communication systems, computer networks, web services management, and the Internet of Things (IoT). His research interests include computer networks, digital and microprocessor systems, IoT in the context of industrial automation, and STEM education. He has collaborated on numerous externally funded projects and has published in information technology and related fields. Dr. Mohammed earned a bachelor’s degree in Technical Education from the University of Central Missouri, a master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Technology from Indiana State University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Education from Texas A&M University.
